Privacy Policy — PhysicsNP

1. Introduction

Welcome to PhysicsNP ("PhysicsNP," "we," "us," or "our"). PhysicsNP is Nepal's physics learning platform, offering structured courses and past papers for students following the NEB (National Examinations Board) and CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) curricula.

PhysicsNP is operated from Chitwan, Nepal, and can be reached at support@physicsnp.com.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, protect, and share (or, more accurately, do not share) information when you use our platform, website, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use the Service.

  • We store your data securely, using industry-standard technical and organizational safeguards.
  • We collect only what is necessary to operate the platform, personalize your learning experience, and keep your account secure.
  • You are always in control of your data — you can access, correct, or delete it at any time.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect strictly for the following legitimate purposes:

  1. Account creation and management — to let you sign up, log in, and maintain a personalized dashboard.
  2. Delivering educational content — to show you courses and past papers relevant to your board (NEB/CBSE) and grade level.
  3. Progress tracking — to save your course progress, bookmarks, and completed materials.
  4. Communication — to send account verification emails, password reset links, important service updates, and (only if you opt in) educational newsletters.
  5. Platform security — to detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, or technical issues.
  6. Service improvement — to understand how students use PhysicsNP so we can improve course structure, content quality, and usability.
  7. Legal compliance — to comply with applicable laws of Nepal and to respond to lawful requests from authorities where legally required.

We do not use your data for automated profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects on you, and we do not use your data to serve targeted third-party advertisements.

5. How We Protect Your Information

We take data security seriously and implement industry-standard safeguards, including:

  • Encryption in transit — all data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS.
  • Encryption at rest — passwords are hashed and salted using secure, one-way cryptographic algorithms; sensitive stored data is encrypted.
  • Access controls — only authorized personnel with a legitimate operational need can access user data, under strict internal confidentiality obligations.
  • Regular security review — we periodically review our systems and infrastructure for vulnerabilities.
  • Secure hosting infrastructure — our servers and databases are hosted with reputable providers that maintain strong physical and network security standards.
  • Minimal data retention — we only keep data for as long as it is needed for the purposes described in this Policy (see Section 9).

While we work hard to protect your information, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password and to keep your login credentials confidential.

6. Sharing of Information — Our "No Third-Party Sharing" Policy

We do not sell, rent, lease, or trade your personal data to any third party, advertiser, or data broker — ever.

We may disclose limited information only in the following narrow, specific circumstances:

  1. Service providers acting on our behalf — We may use trusted infrastructure providers (e.g., cloud hosting or email delivery services) solely to operate the Service. These providers are contractually bound to protect your data, use it only to perform services for us, and are prohibited from using it for their own purposes.
  2. Legal requirements — We may disclose information if required to do so by law, court order, or governmental regulation applicable in Nepal, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of PhysicsNP, our users, or the public.
  3. Business transfers — In the unlikely event of a merger, acquisition, or restructuring, user information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to the same privacy protections described in this Policy, and users will be notified in advance.
  4. With your explicit consent — In any other case, we will only share your information if you explicitly and separately consent to it.

We never share your data with third parties for advertising, marketing profiling, or resale purposes.

7. Our YouTube Community and Video Content

PhysicsNP maintains a community presence and shares educational video content on YouTube.

  • Some content on our platform may be embedded from or linked to our official YouTube channel.

  • We do not automatically transmit your PhysicsNP account information to YouTube. Any interaction on YouTube (comments, likes, subscriptions) is between you and YouTube/Google directly.
  • Embedded YouTube videos may set their own cookies as governed by Google's policies; where possible, we use privacy-conscious embedding practices.

We encourage you to review YouTube's Privacy Policy separately.

12. International Data Transfers

PhysicsNP primarily serves students in Nepal and India. Where our infrastructure or service providers are located outside of Nepal, your information may be processed in another country. In such cases, we take reasonable steps to ensure your data continues to receive an adequate level of protection consistent with this Privacy Policy.

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or for other operational reasons. When we make material changes, we will:

  • Update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this Policy.
  • Notify you via email and/or a prominent notice on the platform, where the change is significant.

We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about how we protect your information.
